By means of an automated production line the company Solarnova from Schleswig-Holstein manufactures attractive solar façade modules in flexible sizes up to 2 x 3 meters.
The production saves both energy and resources. At first, the individual silicon solar cells are connected electrically through fine silver-coloured transmission strips. During the following laminating procedure, the solar cells system is embedded in two protective glass layers with hot-melt adhesive film. These non-splintering glass panes enable a safe use of the transparent modules at extreme locations like mountain huts or lifeboats in merchant shipping.
Furthermore, the solar modules can be individually adapted to particular wishes. The customer decides on colour, form and translucence of the photovoltaic glass façades. The Solarnova façade modules make full use of areas like light glass roofs, vending machines or illumination facilities and open up new ways in design for architects and city planners.
