MIMONA – Motivation for sustainability

On the way of getting to sustainability as a generally accepted behaviour in enterprises, accordingly motivated and trained staff is one important factor for success.

Although in this field a great deal is still to be done, there is a series of positive examples. These proved to be successfully in practice and should be made accessible for other companies. The knowledge about and insight in such examples could serve as an impulse for many companies to adapt and integrate such measures in their own procedures.

Essential part of the project MIMONA (= German acronym for Mitarbeiter Motivation zur Nachhaltigkeit, which means »staff motivation for sustainability «) is an extensive data base, working as a supporting instrument for converting successful measures of staff motivation, training and integration into sustainable action. Gradually, more than 500 exemplary measures were collected and have been accordingly processed.

This know-how is made available in different ways for other companies; for example via an e-mailbased information service, a presentation through the Internet or a series of appropriate events. Especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) get an easily accessible and manageable support to advance their internal sustainable thinking and actions.
