For many application fields, the laser beam cleaning is a non-polluting alternative. Using laser beam sources for the removing of coating layers takes advantage of the laser light absorption - a »dark« filth layer on a reflective metal surface can be removed without damaging the basic material.

A powerful focused laser beam strikes the surface for some thousand billionths of a second. The surface absorbs most of the power. The radiation energy of the laser beam is directly transformed into thermal energy and vaporizes the contamination. The basic material is very gently cleaned by the extremely short and locally limited effect of the radiation.

The company Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH developed a powerful laser beam source with a medium laser capacity of 500 watt. Compared with previous laser systems, the total efficiency could be increased decisively. The new beam source is the main component of a mobile, powerful laser beam system. The advantages of this innovative system are the compact and mobile construction, the absolute geometrical alignment as well as accessibility to all workpieces, low operating costs, a virtually maintenance- free operation as well as the possibility to use the system either manually or automatically.

Application fields range from the removal of coating layers at prefabricated parts to motor vehicle bodies or reasonable on-site corrosion protection treatments at steel prefabricated parts with transportable compact installations. Big moulds and tools and forms like they are found in the shipbuilding and airplane industry can also be cleaned.

First systems already work successfully in customer applications, numerous additional fields are opened up at present.
