Small and medium-sized enterprises are in the focus of interest. The promotion of projects is complemented through an individual-related financial backing: The DBU scholarship programme for doctorates supports promising young scientists during their preparing for graduation.
Entitled to a scholarship are German and foreign students at German universities who have not yet reached the age of 28. The scholarship holders get a basic support of € 850 monthly as also an allowance for material and travel expenses of €150 and, if necessary, a family allowance of € 255.
The scholarship holders are closely accompanied by the DBU with experienced staff providing them with helpful information. During the period of graduation, the doctorates can attend DBU events and seminars which are geared particularly to their needs.

How to apply
Application deadlines are the 15th February and 15th August of every year. At the end of a multi-level three-month selection procedure, the most promising applicants are short-listed and invited for an interview. The decision of the DBU selection committee then is communicated in May and in November, respectively.
For your application you must register online at www.dbu.de/stipendien and submit your written information in due time. Detailed information about the application procedure and necessary documents can be found also on the DBU homepage.
