They provide only weak light and release health-damaging sooty particles and unpleasant smells simultaneously. A lamp emits approximately 80 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year.

Health-friendly and ecological illumination
Together with competent partners from their training companies, students of the state vocational school Berchtesgadener Land developed a health-friendly and more ecological alternative: the mobile solar lamp SOLAR 2000-LED.
Compared with a conventional oil lamp it is characterized through healthy, clear and safe light without any carbon dioxide emitting.
The registered association solarprojekt-freilassing e. V. sends kits and tools for the fitting of the SOLAR 2000-LED to developing countries. An important result of the social commitment of the project is the establishment of workshops for solar technology in Tanzania and Mali. Jobs and repair possibilities are sustainably created.
