Nationally as also on international level he has rendered outstanding services to the development of innovative water and sewage technologies, especially for developing and emerging countries. For his commitment, Hans Huber was awarded the German Environmental Award in the year 2006.

Sewage as resource for recycling
Three-chamber cesspits (septic tanks) are used for the decentralized mechanical waste water treatment world-wide. The HUBER MembraneClearBox^® (MCB) allows the upgrade of the last chamber to a small membrane activation system. The permeate which is flowing through is sterile and completely reusable for irrigation or as industrial water. The Hans Huber AG tests further water treatment systems, amongst others in Algeria and China, in order to win germ-reduced raw sewage for irrigation or water for domestic use.
