The foundation »Jbach-Denk-Mal-Stiftung« put the memorial into the center of its activities since this appealing topic can motivate a wide-ranged group of students for the current and future situation of the environment. Apart from the pedagogic effect, an important, quite »substantial« goal of the project is to prevent monuments from the final loss and to motivate the citizens of the cities of Bamberg and Pirna to actively deal with the topic. Students become initiators and time donors for an important envrionmental education across-the-generations.

Sustainable environmental education
Concrete activities of the students are

• looking into the theoretical and practical matters of the patronage projects,
• contributing to the funding of the memorial preservation, and
• motivating the citizens of Bamberg and Pirna to get involved with the subject.
