The project »environmental education in student companies« would like to show this target group the environmental problems descriptively within student companies as an excellent stepping stone into the working world.
The educational concept of the project covers a practical and a theoretical part in the ecological model city of St. Marienthal. Contents are ecological nutrition, decorating and varnishing, ecological gardening, landscaping and household management as also ecological building and construction. In the practical part, the students work analogously to their activity in the student company in the catering of a canteen kitchen, for example. They enjoy a professional coaching and learn how to save resources in the kitchen, how to separate the garbage or which ecological detergents they should use and how. Professionally experienced staff supports the students during the practical trainings.

Growing initiative, enhancing soft skills
Apart from the integration of the students into the daily work, ecological excursions are offered. These experiences do not only impart technical knowledge, they demand also the students‘ own initiative and soft skills like punctuality, endurance, team ability or frustration tolerance.
