In cooperation with the Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences and two more enterprises, the Westphalian company Strautmann & Söhne developed an electronically controlled universal fertilizer spreader that masters exactly this. By means of most modern GPS technology and electronics, the nutrient content of the soil is regarded as also it is the speed of the fertilizer spreader. Each individual agricultural crop land gets exactly the quantity of nutrients required for an optimal plant growth.

Computer calculates the fertilizer quantity
In order to attune the fertilization optimally to the nutrient demand of the plants and the environment it is necessary to know the soil factors exactly. Charts and maps delivering data on the soil nutrient and harvest volumes can serve to define the fertilization parameters. The computer on board of the innovative spreader records these reference values. The weight of the charge and the speed are determined permanently during operation. From the weight and the covered distance the computer calculates the fertilizer quantity proposed online and compares it with the reference values. Based on this, the fertilizer flow is regulated automatically during operation. The satellite-controlled fertilizer spreader closes a gap and integrates the organic fertilization into the »Precision Farming«-System.
