However, this trend involves conflict potential: the numerous climbers rise the pressure also in areas which are disturbance-sensitive and valuable from a nature conservation view.
The German alpine association Deutscher Alpenverein (DAV) developed the internet data base www.dav-felsinfo.de. 28 German climbing regions are presented with information about more than 3,000 separate crags.

Routing planned at home
By means of the rock information system sport climbers can plan climbing trips in the internet that fit to their specific requirements. Available are, amongst others, the current regularisations according to the climbing conceptions, as blocked crags and breeding birds. This way the user gets already at the beginning of planning all necessary and nature protection relevant information about temporary blocked crags and paths or limited climbing possibilities, in order to consider them beforehand.
Through the specific guidance of the sportives the DAV advocates a sport which is ecologically and scenically compatible.
