Development of a solar heating with heat pump for low-energy houses with a primary energy saving of more than 50 percent

Carbon Neutral Heating with Solar Power

The company CONSOLAR Solar Energy Systems GmbH offers complete solutions for solar thermal heating and hot water supply from small systems to large combined units. The four engineers Ulrich Leibfried, Andreas Siegemund, Hans Stork and Rolf Konrad founded the enterprise in 1994. Just one year later the first hot-water storage system CONUS was launched with DBU financing. Meanwhile, the company employs over 60 staff.

While traditional solar systems cover about 20 to 40% of domestic heat supply, the new solar heating SOLAERA can save more than 50% of primary energy. Oil and gas are no longer required. The high savings result from the combination of a new solar collector with an electric-powered heat pump. The new module can not only convert sunlight into heat, but also extracts heat for heating purposes from the ambient air. The system, that combines an innovative hybrid collector with a heat pump, a latent storage and a combined layer storage, was awarded an innovation award on the 17th Solar Thermal Energy Symposium for its great potential in primary energy savings. Combined with environmentally friendly produced electricity, the compact system allows a 100% carbon neutral heating.
