Therefore, relaxing camping and intact nature are inseparable. This is the starting point of Ecocamping, a management system similar to the eco-management and audit scheme EMAS II. It supports campsites and companies to become future-oriented, quality- and environmentally conscious.

The association Ecocamping e. V. was founded in 2002 to enhance environmental and nature protection as also safety and quality in the camping sector. The label »Ecocamping Management« is the best known eco-label for camp sites in Europe. Currently some 250 campsites in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Denmark are labeled. Each site gets its individually tailored environmental and quality management. Participation is open to all camping sites, regardless of size or type of business.

Advantages of Ecocamping

The activities range from waste sorting, environmental education programs and climate protection measures to the installation of a photovoltaic system or a combined heat and power station.
