In 2012 the German Convention Bureau e. V. (GCB) cooperated with the European Association of Event Centres e. V. (EVVC) in a DBU-supported project to conceive for the first time a series of seminars on the subject »Green Meetings«, within which framework participants were given advanced training as Sustainability Consultants in the event sector. 

In 2014, following the close of this project, the GCB independently pursued further development of these seminars. In addition to the seminars for beginners, the advanced "Sustainability Consultant 2.0" programme was offered for the first time.
