National Forest Programme (NFP) is intended to be an innovative policy instrument to resolve forest-related social conflicts by means of co-operative arrangements between stakeholders (Elsasser 2002), i.e. ministries, forest owners, ecological NGOs, representatives of wood processing industry, municipalities, research centres, educational institutions etc. However, the way of stakeholders? participation can significantly influence a quality of the process, and consequently a quality of the outcome, i.e. the NFP.The purpose of the project is to study the German NFP (particularly the process of its evaluation and the reception of the process among participants), and in the next step to describe, analyse and evaluate the Czech NFP process in terms of stakeholders? participation and effectiveness. Learning from experience and identification of best practises ought to be substantial outcomes of the project which can contribute to a potential improvement of the Czech NFP process.References:Elsasser, P.
