1.) Bottermann is new DBU-General Secretary

As of October 1st, 2013 Dr. Heinrich Bottermann will be the new General Secretary of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU) in Osnabrück. The DBU Board of Trustees under the Chairmanship of Hubert Weinzierl appointed the 57-year old President of the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection in North Rhine-Westphalia to the top position at the headquarters of the largest environmental foundation in the world. Bottermann succeeds Dr.-Ing. E. h. Fritz Brickwedde, who is retiring at the end of September. Bottermann studied Veterinary Medicine in Gießen and won his doctorate in Hannover. Since August 1st, 2007, Bottermann has been President of the State Office, an agency with some 1,400 employees.
