2.) With Utopia City, Sustainable Shopping Just a Click Away

Consumer and shopping decisions are being increasingly made on the basis of information from the internet. Many consumers have reached the point of taking sustainability factors into account as part of their buying habits.

However, there is frequently a large gap between aspiration and reality in this regard – not least because consumers can be poorly informed about sustainable options where they live. In order to close this gap, Utopia AG has created a green online business directory for sustainable products, dealers and service providers called “Utopia City”, which was realized and promoted through Action Days in four model cities (Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne).

The data bank currently consists of some 13,000 reputable address entries which can be searched for and located by postal code and locality. The user may find information about the distance to the closest sustainable products in her/his city by means of Google Maps.
