2.) DBU Board of Trustees elects Chairperson and Assistants

The 16-member Board of Trustees of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU), in its September 11th meeting, elected the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter, as its new Chairperson. Thus for the first time since the foundation’s establishment in 1990, a woman assumes the leading position at the DBU. She will be ably supported by Assistant Chairperson Undine Kurth (Deutscher Naturschutzring), Prof. Martin zur Nedden (Deutsches Institut für Urbanistik) and State Secretary Dr. Georg Schütte (BMBF, Federal Ministry of Education and Research), who were all elected on the same day.
