2.) Economic ethics: “Shared values” instead of “shareholder value”

The basis of economic ethics is the application of ethical principles in the sphere of economic activity. This has always involved the discussion of controversial issues surrounding economic and/or corporate ethics. The German Economic Ethics Network (Deutsche Netzwerk Wirtschaftsethik, DNWE) has committed itself to the task of strengthening the role of ethics in the economic sphere and society in a coalescing world, and discussing openly the various problems and solutional perspectives associated with this subject. Related approaches and background on economics ethics issues were recently elucidated by Prof. Dr. habil. Josef Wieland, Chairperson of the DNWE, for DBU staff at the DBU Center for Environmental Communication.
