1. Innovative Approaches from Micro Process Engineering

From 21 - 23 September the Aachen Eurogress Centre hosts the ProcessNet Annual Conference 2010 and the 28th DECHEMA annual meeting of biotechnologists. Chemists, process engineers and biotechnologists present current developments and research of their work. The general theme of the conference is ProcessNet: Sustainable production - Saving raw materials and increasing energy efficiency. A special topic is thermal heat storage and hydrogen production and storage.

The Aachen Eurogress Centre hosts teh Process-Net meeting 2010

On 22 September the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt DBU presents the following four innovative funding projects in the field of micro process engineering:

  • Direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide with carbon dioxide as reaction medium in membrane micro-reactor - DECHEMA / Frankfurt / Main, Dr. Aneta Pashkova;
  • From macro-batch to micro-conti: New process windows for better products and sustainable practices - TU Braunschweig, Laura Grundemann;
  • The development of ultrasound supported multiphase reactions in microstructured devices - Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, Rostock, Dr. Sandra Hübner;
  • Efficient synthesis of organic semiconductor materials by micro process engineering - University of Jena, Christoph Kompter and Dirk Ziegenbalg.

The lecture session is presented by Dr. Max Hempel, DBU Department of Environmental Chemistry. Examples of the DBU-project cluster "Novell Windows Process" can be found here.
