The goal of the associated project group made up of the Competence Center for Energy and Environmental System Technology (“Kompetenzzentrum für Energie- und Umweltsystemtechnik”, ZEuUS) and the Institute for Applied Physics (“Institut für angewandte Physik”, IAP) at the University of Gießen is the development of a fine dust sensor which can make it possible to constantly measure the emission levels of a wood combustion system. The air supply fed to the oven could thus be optimally adapted to the current combustion stage and to the current fuel quality. Operational errors through incorrect behavior by users could then be largely eliminated.
