In the manufacture of gypsum fiber board, a higher vertical production range results in a corresponding waste accumulation of up to a quarter of the original production amount. Waste products such as abrasive dusts, or bulky material resulting from packaging, were not previously reusable and were landfilled. In the first and second phases of a project at Lindner AG of Dettelbach, it was demonstrated that gypsum fiber waste, through the intermediate stage of a so-called α-Calcium sulfate hemihydrate, can indeed once again be integrated into the production cycle.
