With its thematic focus “Micropollutants in Our Waters and Energy Efficiency”, the DBU was dealing with current hot topics at its IFAT trade fair appearance in Munich. Between May 5th and 9th, 2014, together with six partners, the organization presented at its fair stand new solutions in improved waste water purification, and toward increased energy efficiency in the operation of waste water treatment plants. The innovation forums presented together with the BMBF and the DWA were well attended, as was the “DBU Talk” which took place for the first time. At this event, DBU General Secretary Dr. Heinrich Bottermann and DWA Vice-President Prof. Dr.-Ing. F. Wolfgang Günthert spoke on projected possibilities for the reduction of micropollutants in our waters.
Once again, the IFAT racked up record numbers: with over 135,000 visitors from 170 countries, and nearly 3,100 exhibitors, this year’s IFAT was the most successful ever.
