With the retirement of the founder and General Secretary of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU), Dr.-Ing. E. h. Fritz Brickwedde, an era of twenty-two and a half years comes to an end, as the DBU Assistant General Secretary Prof. Dr. Werner Wahmhoff emphasized at the departure ceremony for Fritz Brickwedde. The retiring leader was said to have “filled the role of DBU ‘founding father’ with life, both creatively and skillfully. In his departing address, Dr.-Ing. E. h. Fritz Brickwedde offered heartfelt thanks to all employees for their many years of committed service.
